Mercury Interactive Forms Software License and Distribution-Based Partnership with SAP AG

Mercury Interactive Corporation announced it has formed a software license and distribution-based partnership with SAP AG, for Optane, Mercury Interactive's suite of business technology optimization (BTO) software.

Under terms of the agreement, SAP will bundle introductory versions of Mercury Interactive software with SAP solutions, such as mySAP Enterprise Portal, for distribution to SAP customers.

SAP will also resell a version of the Optane suite, which is optimized for SAP solutions, to help customers test, tune and manage the performance of their SAP solutions throughout the application lifecycle.

In addition, SAP will use Optane internally for development testing, and externally for testing customer implementations.

As part of the agreement, Mercury Interactive and SAP will work together to create pre-configured re-usable business process templates, best practice guides, and customized versions of the Optane suite specifically designed to optimize the performance of SAP solutions and maximize business benefits.

Mercury Interactive and SAP will initiate joint customer engagements immediately.

SAP plans to begin shipping introductory Mercury Interactive software bundles with SAP solution and will begin reselling the Optane suite in the second quarter of 2003.

Mercury Interactive's relationship with SAP began in the mid-1990s.

Since that time, Mercury Interactive has developed a complete set of enterprise testing, tuning and performance management solutions built around SAP solution requirements.

To date, more than 750 SAP customers have successfully used Mercury Interactive's performance management solutions to deploy, upgrade and maintain their mySAP.com solutions.
