Sun Microsystems and Ximian Partner to Enhance Enterprise Communication and Collaboration
Ximian, Inc. and Sun Microsystems Inc., announced the Sun[tm] ONE Connector for Ximian Evolution.
The Sun ONE Connector for Ximian Evolution provides complete integration for Sun ONE users with Linux and Solaris[tm] desktops to the popular Evolution email and calendaring workgroup information client.
This enables them to easily collaborate with Windows-based coworkers.
These users will be able to seamlessly and easily manage their email, multiple calendars, group schedules, shared calendars, address books and local task lists using existing Sun ONE servers.
According to The Radicati Group ("Messaging Total Cost of Ownership 2001, December 2001"), organizations surveyed realized a total cost of ownership of $2.

Sun ONE users can define and manage email folders, propose meetings with and view free/busy time of other Sun ONE users, access personal contacts and global address lists.
Sun ONE users get an elegant interface and full functionality of Ximian Evolution, including QuickSearch, vFolders, threaded email view, in-line text editing and synchronization with Palm handhelds.
In addition to the Sun ONE Connector for Ximian Evolution, the Sun ONE Communications products include a new synchronization tool that enables synchronization to Microsoft Outlook 98, 2000, Windows CE devices, and Palm Desktops.
