Rockwell FirstPoint Contact Corporation, announced its president, Terry Murphy, was named CEO of the Year for the Contact Center space by Frost & Sullivan, a global leader in growth consulting.

The award was announced at the annual Information and Communication Technology Awards Banquet in Scottsdale, Ariz. on Wednesday, January 15, 2003.

"This award is less a reflection of my role in this organization, but rather a reflection of the tremendous labors of the employees of this company," said Murphy. "It is also particularly important because it recognizes the efforts of an organization that only two years ago was being discounted as a foundering enterprise.

The Frost & Sullivan banquet honors individuals and companies for outstanding performance and achievements in the information and communication technology industry.

"We believe that all of the changes Terry has made during his short term leading the company will place Rockwell FirstPoint Contact in a great position this year. The company is likely to grow more rapidly than it has in the past and improve its market position as the economy turns around," said Alpa Shah, Frost & Sullivan research director.

Frost & Sullivan recognized Murphy for taking a beleaguered company and returning it to and maintaining profitability.

Also under Murphy's direction, Rockwell FirstPoint Contact rebranded the company -- becoming a more marketing-driven, software-focused organization -- as well as launching two new product solutions in 2002: FirstPoint Enterprise 2002 and FirstPoint Business Edition. Both solutions have been singled out and awarded in the industry for innovation and quality.

Before joining Rockwell FirstPoint Contact, Murphy ran his own independent telecommunications consultancy, where he advised leading companies in the industry on their distribution and channel management strategies.

He also served as vice president and general manager of wireless alliances at Motorola, where he was responsible for international development of indirect channels and technology alliances.

Murphy holds a bachelor's degree and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
