Unisys Purchases K Consulting of Spain
Unisys Corporation has acquired K Consulting, formerly KPMG Consulting Spain, dramatically adding to its strength in business consulting, information technology (IT) consulting and implementation services in Spain.
"This is a strategic acquisition that will significantly expand the Unisys services business in Spain," said Jesús Moreno Cecilia, general manager, Unisys Spain & Portugal, who will continue to lead the current Unisys organization in these countries. "Unisys will now have a stronger end-to-end offering to help a wide range of clients with their business transformations."
Unisys will now operate two separate businesses in Spain: Unisys Spain and the newly acquired firm, which will operate as Unisys Consulting. Unisys Consulting brings Unisys a team of people who provide services in strategy development, process re-engineering, human resources consulting, and business and IT consulting, as well as in the integration of enterprise resource planning solutions. These capabilities will complement the services offered by Unisys Spain, including hardware, software, infrastructure services, systems integration and IT consulting.
Unisys Spain has approximately 330 employees who specialize in five industries: financial services, public sector, transportation, media and communications, and commercial. Unisys Consulting will add approximately 320 employees to Unisys, providing services to utility, automotive, retail, pharmaceutical, communications and entertainment, financial services and public sector organizations.
"By being part of Unisys, our business will be in a better position to compete, thanks to the excellent reputation Unisys has for providing IT services and solutions around the world," said Enrique Martínez de Meana, managing partner for Unisys Consulting. "We look forward to bringing this new global strength to our clients here in Spain."
