Intermec Selects SAP for Global CRM Solution
SAP AG announced that Intermec Technologies Corporation has selected mySAP™ Customer Relationship Management (mySAP CRM) to provide its sales force with a single point of access for customer interaction data from all sources across the enterprise, enabling the company to track sales opportunities more effectively and enhance service to customers.
Intermec Technologies will implement mySAP CRM to develop a standardized customer information system that will reduce costs and help fuel revenue growth by increasing the quality of data collected in the field and facilitating information sharing among field sales personnel.

The implementation of mySAP CRM will replace four separate legacy systems to deliver one view of the customer to Intermec’s sales force and to increase sales opportunities.
Intermec Technologies is a provider of global supply chain solutions and in the development, manufacture, and integration of wired and wireless automated data collection, Intellitag® RFID (radio frequency identification), mobile computing systems, bar code printers, and label media.
An SAP customer and technology partner, the company provides supply chain information products, services, and systems to hundreds of companies in a variety of industries around the world.
With the addition of mySAP CRM, Intermec will tie together its existing financial and materials management solutions from SAP to establish a comprehensive CRM system that provides up-to-date sales account information to several hundred CRM users.

Intermec is scheduled to begin global deployment of my SAP CRM in the United States, followed by Europe in 2004.
Powered by a new mobile engine, mySAP CRM delivers extended field applications, giving Intermec’s sales and service representatives the flexibility to initiate orders, access accounts, and maximize sales opportunities from the field.
Using mobile sales capabilities from SAP, the Intermec sales force will have immediate access to up-to-date pricing, product, and order status information for their customers, eliminating the need for customers to make multiple calls in search of order status updates.
As a result, the sales force will spend less time looking for transaction data and will have more time to practice consultative sales activities to better serve current customers and cultivate relationships with new customers.
With a common data repository to manage data associated with global accounts, Intermec will be able to manage the needs of their customers with a single integrated and global view of the customer as opposed to focusing on transactions.
