Portland Transportation Authority Enhances Security of Mass Transit System with Verint Video Solution

Verint Systems Inc., a provider of analytic software-based solutions for communications interception, networked video security and business intelligence, announced that the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) is deploying Verint's Networked Video Solution to enhance security of certain portions of its rail system. TriMet is a municipal corporation that provides public transportation in the Portland, Oregon, metro area.

TriMet operates a comprehensive transit network including a 44-mile, 64-station light rail system and 93 bus lines that facilitate almost 300,000 passenger trips in the Portland area every weekday.

The Verint Networked Video Solution will enable TriMet to enhance security of its rail system by monitoring certain passenger platforms and remote maintenance facilities from its central operations center. The solution will be delivered in conjunction with Verint partner ARINC Incorporated, the prime contractor and systems integrator for TriMet's new video security and central control system projects.

Verint's Networked Video Solutions enable government and commercial organizations to enhance the security of their facilities by networking video across multiple locations and applying advanced content analytics to extract actionable intelligence from live and stored video. By alerting security personnel to potential security threats, Verint's Networked Video Solutions are designed to help organizations prevent security breaches and improve response time.
