Pluris Hires Former Abacus Executive Chris McDonald as President

Pluris Inc., a leading provider of fully integrated, multi-channel marketing solutions, today announced that marketing services veteran and former Abacus executive Chris McDonald has been appointed President of Pluris, a key step in positioning the company for its next stage of growth. In his new role, McDonald will lead all sales and new business development activity, and oversee account management for Pluris’ current customers.

With significant senior leadership experience in marketing and direct marketing organizations, McDonald is one of the leading thinkers in applying technology, data, and analytics to improve direct marketing and advertising performance in the off-line and on-line worlds.

He has worked with some of the largest, most respected, retail and catalog brands, including Brookstone, Patagonia, and Sur La Table, as well as many leading media and communications companies.

Most recently, McDonald served as Executive Vice President and General Manager for Abacus, a division of Epsilon and formerly part of DoubleClick, Inc. He led the company’s business in North America, including the market-leading Business-to-Consumer and Business-to-Business cooperative databases and the database marketing analytics division. During his nearly five years at Abacus, McDonald drove significant revenue and market share gains helping the company surpass the $100 million milestone for total company revenue in 2004. The majority of this growth was the result of McDonald founding the Data Management division via an acquisition in 2003 and several complimentary organic growth investments. In addition, the company won three database marketing excellence awards from the NCDM for multi-channel database marketing solutions built for AOL and AT&T (formerly SBC).

Prior to joining Abacus, McDonald served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for TeleTech Holdings, Inc. and as the President of MBS Insight – a provider of database marketing and analytical solutions to the retail and catalog industry. In addition, he served at iXL as Vice President of Strategy Consulting, and several years at EDS in various roles including Account Management, Marketing Consulting, and Director of International Business Development for the dbIntellect Technologies business unit.

McDonald holds a Master of Science in Management from the Krannert Graduate School of Business at Purdue University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Colorado.
