UniPhyer Enables Overnight Deployment Of Avaya, Cisco, Nortel, ShoreTel
Phybridge, Inc., a provider of IP telephony deployment infrastructure, today unveiled UniPhyer, an IP deployment appliance that makes any IP PBX (including Avaya, Cisco, Digium, Fonality, Mitel, Nortel, ShoreTel, Siemens, open source telephony solutions) into a simple plug-and-play installation. UniPhyer is a Layer 2 Ethernet appliance that allows VoIP and Unified Communication applications to be run on existing telephone cabling.
"The UniPhyer instantly provides a PVN™ (Parallel Voice Network) with an additional QoS, POE LAN drop to every desktop," said Oliver Emmanuel, President, Phybridge. "By leveraging existing cable, businesses can easily deploy IP telephony and converged networks with no network downtime."
"We see tremendous benefit for the UniPhyer, which can virtually eliminate the barriers associated with traditional IP deployment and make an overnight installation a reality for our customers," said Terry Buchanan, Vice President & CTO, Conpute. "This product will allow us to focus on providing unified communication solutions and applications to help our customers, and not on spending long cycles on getting the infrastructure ready for deployment."
The UniPhyer is also IP phone agnostic. Phones plug into a PhyAdapter and into the wall jack. The IP Phone is fully operational with POE, guaranteed Quality of Service, a dedicated voice path and a platform for unified communication applications. A "Y" Adapter will also be available to plug into the phone and Ethernet wall jacks and provide an instant failover if the phone or Ethernet becomes disabled for any reason.
"We have thousands of TDM telephones under management within our clients' premises," said Robert Bracey, President, Quartet Service Inc. "We see the UniPhyer as a good solution to allow these clients to upgrade to IP Telephony quickly and cost effectively. As a managed services provider, we are excited about the UniPhyer's ability to allow us to manage our clients' telephony end-to-end as we can do in the TDM world."
"The ease of installation, reliability, QoS and robust platform delivered by the UniPhyer compliments IP manufactures and service provider offerings ensuring their brand is not compromised by LAN network deficiencies," says John Croce, CEO of Phybridge. "Both users and businesses tend to blame the new gear for quality and reliability problems and not their LAN infrastructure. The UniPhyer eliminates this risk for our IP manufacturing and service provider partners and enables them to deploy more offerings in a more economical and risk-free manner."
