Vodafone Egypt Standardizes On BusinessObjects XI Release 2
Business Objects, provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, announced that Vodafone Egypt has standardized on BusinessObjects(TM) XI Release 2, the industry's most advanced and complete BI platform.
The mobile services industry is an extremely competitive environment that is characterized by high customer turnover. Vodafone Egypt has used Business Objects as its reporting and business intelligence solution since 1998. For the past eight years, business has grown, product complexity has increased, and the intelligence produced by Business Objects solutions has become increasingly critical.
BusinessObjects XI Release 2 provides Vodafone Egypt one BI platform for reporting, query and analysis, and performance management tasks. It simplifies standardization by offering a modern service-oriented architecture and user-friendly tools to manage the complete BI platform.
"With BusinessObjects XI Release 2, we now have one Web-based environment with excellent security, a new dashboard manager and performance manager, enhanced core capabilities -- including managing all users, and we can achieve the flexibility that is needed thanks to a scalable solution," remarked Ahmed Nabil, data warehouse manager at Vodafone Egypt.
About using Performance Manager and Dashboard Manager, Nabil said:
"Once strategy and objectives are defined, it was vital that we implemented a system that gave us scorecards and dashboards to help our decision makers measure their KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)."
Scorecards and dashboards are seen as a strategic tool at Vodafone Egypt as they provide overall indications on business performance and customer satisfaction to senior management. Senior management has top level information while business unit managers have the ability to drill down to different levels of detail for their own departments.
"Telecom providers around the world are relying on Business Objects' solutions to remain competitive in markets, where the only constant is change," comments Maurizio Carli, senior vice president and general manager EMEA at Business Objects. "Vodafone Egypt's standardization on BusinessObjects XI Release 2 has given it a solid foundation for future growth, giving employees unparalleled flexibility to measure business performance, identify new trends and exploit opportunities in the market."
