Other significant enhancements to Vision 3 include a new workflow engine, full audit trail reporting, purchasing module and document management capabilities that provide secure, Web-based collaboration for users to share, upload, review and edit documents, regardless of location. In addition the latest release introduces robust Multicurrency and Multicompany functionality.

Since its initial release in late 2002, more than 600 accounting, architecture and engineering, construction, management consulting, IT services and systems integration companies have implemented Deltek Vision.

Foth& Van Dyke and Associates, Inc., a consulting engineering firm headquartered in Green Bay, WI, which provides public infrastructure and environmental services, along with industrial engineering and custom machine design for Fortune 100 corporations, is one of the first companies to have purchased the entire Vision 3 platform. This includes all back-office functions, plus marketing, CRM, proposal automation, resource and project planning, purchasing and document management.

“Deltek’s solution has integrated several key features – including an intuitive user interface tied to a single database, as well as workflow alerts and dashboard – which makes it easier for users to access information directly,” said Dave Strick, Senior Information Systems Specialist, Foth & Van Dyke. “Vision 3 will allow us to build a collaborative workplace for members, suppliers and clients to access our business information systems in real time, anytime and anywhere.”

Foth& Van Dyke, whose customers include Kraft Foods, Miller Brewing Co. and the US Postal Service, will also be taking advantage of Vision’s multicompany capabilities to integrate its subsidiary firm, MVP Machine Solutions, and to support overall growth.

“Vision 3 gives our customers a more integrated software experience that allows a much greater degree of collaboration and efficiency,” said Eric Brehm, Executive Vice President of Deltek. “This enhanced technology, combined with our continued commitment to the highest level of system support, grants businesses unprecedented insight into every stage of their project lifecycle. With its VisionXtend platform, workflow engine and screen designer, Vision 3 allow firms to easily adapt the product to their unique requirements and processes.”

“Increasingly, we see Global 2000 companies requiring better coordination of financial management capabilities, effective workflows and document management to address regulatory compliance issues and project portfolio management,” said Melinda-Carol Ballou, senior research analyst at META Group, a research advisory service with offices in Westborough, MA.
