This is a Technical Sales role that requires a mixture of profound business knowledge, superior sales abilities and strong technical skills.
The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of and experience in web hosting technologies, including but not limited to the following:
- Server hardware components and configurations, including multiple server systems;
- IT infrastructure platforms, including LINUX, UNIX and Windows based server environments;
- NAS and SAN data storage solutions and general data centre configurations and support systems;
- Security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, anti-virus and other host based security solutions and disaster recovery procedures;
- Data networking products, complex data solutions, and network design including: Routing, Switching, IP Networks, and VPNs.
Responsibilities:
You will be expected to:
- support the sales team by following up on leads to qualify and close sales opportunities;
- generate new leads through various mediums;
- understand and communicate the functionality and benefits of the specific services, data and network products and services of the company;
- analyze client products and services in comparison to those offered by competition;
- translate customer business requirements into technology solutions;
- communicate complex technical solutions to non-technical client base;
- communicate technical solutions to internal provisioning team for implementation;
- develop and maintain knowledge of market developments and hosting solutions;
- prepare proposals, manage existing customers, as well as follow up with multiple departments to resolve issues for customers;
- coordinate efforts with sales team, follow up with technical support, billing and NOC to resolve issues for customers;
- conduct customer satisfaction surveys, communicate to the Marketing and Product groups to help gather information for analysis.
