| Job Description:The Managing Director, Data will be the principal change agent and chief strategist responsible for establishing the direction and scope of the Company’s new enterprise information management solution. He or she will be responsible for converting the Company from a series of legacy systems to an enterprise information management solution and creating a more agile information technology organization.
Critical to the Managing Director’s success is converting end users from the legacy systems to the enterprise information management solution. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of developing and executing an enterprise information management solution that is comprehensive, ideally one that integrates customer, revenue and maintenance information, with an eye towards the next generation of information management solutions. He or she will also have experience making board of director presentations, and working with and building teams at all levels of staff, explaining the technology and its uses in laymen terms, cultivating champions among business unit leaders and end-users for conversion from a legacy system to an enterprise solution by clearly explaining how using the technology will result in business benefits.
The Managing Director, Data will need to be a self-starter, a quick study, be curious, and have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to fit in to an existing culture while serving as a change agent, coupled with drive, creative thinking, and the ability to work effectively under pressure and deal with setbacks are also essential characteristics. He or she will be highly skilled in probing business managers and other stakeholders to elicit information regarding how the business works and then translating it into an enterprise information management solution that can be used to support and improve business processes and practices. Key to the Managing Director’s success will be the ability to develop an enterprise solution strategy and to execute it, demonstrating progress within the first 6- 12 months on the job.
An expansion of the role of an existing position, the new Managing Director will be supported in his or her efforts by a staff of eight and state-of-the-art hardware. He or she will report to the Vice President of Realtime & Analytical Systems, and work closely with other information technology departments-Operations Research and Decision Support, Business Operations and Support, and Customer Technology. One of the top 200 data management jobs in US industry today, the Managing Director will have direct exposure to the Senior Vice President for Information
Technology/Chief Technology Officer, and other members of the executive committee of the Company that report to the CEO.
