Sr. Analytics Consultant


Job Description
The Harte-Hanks Analytics group provides consultative support to clients which is data-based, analysis-driven and grounded in a solid understanding of direct marketing and customer relationship management. We conduct customer and product analyses, develop models, and design tests, often incorporating primary research to uncover attitudes driving behavior. We overlay that with a clear understanding of the marketplace gained through in-dept. geo-demographic analysis - all with the goal being to ensure that what is learned becomes part of the client’s body of knowledge. Objective: • Oversee, plan, manage and deliver analytical database/direct marketing projects for Harte-Hanks’ clients. Responsibilities: • Work with clients and Analytics team members to identify business objectives, define data requirements, and construct analyses appropriate to achieve measurable business results. • Assist in consultation with clients as how to apply advanced analytics methodology to help solve clients business’ needs. • Perform data discovery to assist in project scoping and assessment of data needs. • Manage timelines and resources on projects with client(s) as needed, based upon working with Analytics staff; provide job quotes and facilitate order acknowledgement on all projects. • Coordinate client communications with representatives of Harte-Hanks business units and sales team to maintain unified Harte-Hanks impression with client. • Manage multiple client projects simultaneously. • Prepare specific analytical deliverables (reports, graphs, etc.), utilizing database software tools. • Write up key findings and marketing-oriented conclusions drawn from project data. • Communicate with client(s) regarding necessary approvals and clarifications for project requirements. • As needed, present/deliver findings to clients, individually or as part of consultative team.

Skills
Required Skills: Requirements: • 5+ years experience in database/direct marketing analysis. • Strong ability to translate analytical findings into tangible marketing initiatives. • Knowledge of data software tools as SAS, SQL and BI/reporting tools as Cognos, Business Objects, and others. • Possess understanding of third-party lists and appending techniques (demographics, lifestyles, firmographics). • Strong grasp of B2C and B2B marketing paradigms, challenges, and issues. • Strong understanding of analytical techniques ranging from basic (e.g. proportion and means tests) to more advanced (CHAID, regression, cluster, factor). • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Strong self-management to operate productively and flexibly in a growing business producing high-quality, on-time deliverables. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where flexibility and ability to manage change is critical. • Responsive, enthusiastic, team-oriented personal style for effectiveness with client(s) and colleagues. • Knowledge of general relational database technology preferred. • MA/MS/MBA in marketing, economics, information technology, statistics, quantitative social science, market research, or a related field preferred.
