Lead Marketing Statistician


Job Description
Seattle-based digital technology company seeks a Lead Marketing Statistician with experience in applying advanced statistical and machine learning algorithms to real-world business problems. The individual will develop optimal modeling techniques to help major telecommunication carriers maximize revenues from their premium content business. Responsibilities: • Evaluate algorithms/analytic techniques for problems e.g., real time product recommendations and personalization • Analyze data sources to identify attributes valuable for modeling purposes • Define/implement processes to overcome data availability limitations and quality issues • Prove quality of selected algorithms by building production-grade models against multiple data sets • Create/apply repeatable model measurement framework • Develop methods to automate entire modeling process, including model training, deployment, ongoing monitoring and adaptive learning • Guide development team in embedding selected algorithms in commercial products • Participate in customer implementation projects, taking ownership of all modeling-related activities • Support business development by working directly with sales teams to articulate/advocate modeling methods to prospects • Present results of quantitative analysis and modeling to non-technical audiences

Skills
Required Skills: • MS or PhD in statistics, mathematics, econometrics or related • Demonstrated success in applying data mining/statistics to marketing problems such as product recommendations, cross-sell retention and offer optimization • Proficient in statistical tools such as SAS or SPSS • Working knowledge of SQL • Ability to work independently with large-scale relational databases and data sets • Software development experience; familiarity with programming languages such as Java a plus
