Dress Barn Selects Oracle Retail Merchandising System and Oracle Retail Data Warehouse
Oracle announced that leading women's specialty retailer Dress Barn, Inc., selected Oracle(r) Retail Merchandising System and Oracle Retail Data Warehouse to help support more accurate inventory forecasting, merchandising and price management within its dressbarn division. Dressbarn will use the Oracle Retail Merchandising System to provide enhanced reporting that will help improve store sales and reduce costs across the enterprise.
The implementation of Oracle Retail Merchandising System for dressbarn stores begins as Dress Barn, Inc. completes a record $1 billion revenue performance in 2005 and looks toward continued growth and expansion. In the past year, the retailer grew to nearly 1,300 stores from more than 776 with the January 2005 acquisition of fashion retailer, maurices.
Dress Barn, Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer, David R. Jaffe commented, "We required a partner that will provide a solid IT foundation to help us support growth for many years. Oracle understands our retail environment and offers a footprint upon which we can create efficiencies in merchandising, planning, inventory control and the entire supply chain. Deploying Oracle Retail solutions is a critical step in our strategic growth."
Dressbarn stores will move to the Oracle Retail Merchandising System from its current legacy systems. The new enterprise platform will enable the retailer to increase same-store and enterprise-wide sales through better buying, allocation and inventory planning decisions. Dress Barn also expects to reduce costs through improved visibility of sales and inventory performance.
"Oracle understands the economics of retail and the importance dressbarn places on providing the best possible customer experience," said Oracle Retail General Manager, Duncan Angove. "We are committed to helping dressbarn rapidly deploy Oracle Retail solutions for immediate and long-term sales growth and efficiencies."
Oracle Retail's integrated merchandising solution supports a retailer's operations through one single, comprehensive source of data. Its scalable foundation enables the generation of more accurate forecasts of consumer demand and connects these forecasts to execution throughout the supply chain, helping retailers to achieve better in-season inventory management and allocation across stores.
