SAS CEO Jim Goodnight Wins Stevie Award for Best Executive

Jim Goodnight, CEO of SAS, won the Stevie Award for Best Executive in the 2004 American Business Awards Monday night. According to Goodnight, the award is not so much a salute to him as to his employees and customers.

"SAS' success is the result of the hard work of nearly 10,000 people around the globe," said Goodnight. "I simply facilitate a creative environment where people can create great software and foster long-term relationships with our customers. I would like to thank the American Business Awards for this honor, and my employees for making it possible.

Goodnight and SAS have received numerous awards and recognition in the past, including a Top 10 ranking on Fortune magazine's 2004 list of "The 100 Best Companies to Work for in America" and a feature on an "Only the Best" segment of The Oprah Winfrey Show. The company’s business intelligence solutions are used at more than 40,000 sites &150; including 96 of the top 100 companies that comprise the 2003 Fortune Global 500. Goodnight authored many of the procedures used in SAS software.
SAS also won a Stevie in the category of Best Communications Organization and was a finalist in the categories of Best Marketing Executive, Best New Product/Service, Best Ad Campaign and Best Demo.
