Infonet Expands Managed International Data Communications Services For Schering AG
Infonet Services Corporation, a provider of global communications for multinationals, announced it has been awarded a two-year contract by Schering AG, marking the continuation of a ten-year partnership between this Berlin-based pharmaceuticals company and Infonet.
Infonet will manage Schering's international data communications, connecting 50 Schering sites across Europe, Asia and Latin America on Infonet's The World Network.
After competing against numerous international data communications providers to win this contract, Infonet will provide Schering AG with global communication services for a multitude of cross-site applications with a wide range of requirements - from email to production support.
As a result, the 50 locations continuously receive solid performance and excellent responsiveness for speed-critical transactions, without expensive over-capacity network set-up requirements. In addition, mobile users can also dial into the company's network using Infonet's DialXpress Internet Service.
"The ability to prioritise the applications on the network was a basic requirement for making our decision," explained Jurgen Schroder, CIO at Schering AG. "Infonet's ability to provide flexibility, absolute network stability, and international experience proved to be the decisive criteria in fostering our relationship."
"The fact that in this fiercely competitive sector a leading international company has continued to choose Infonet for a decade now underlines the quality of our networks and services," explains Micheline Wens, Managing Director of Infonet Germany. "Once again this shows that in the turbulent telecommunications market Infonet is a reliable, long-term partner for its clients."
