Alcatel-Lucent Helps Large Enterprises Reduce Costs And Increase Efficiency
Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) announced a suite of enhancements for its portfolio of products for large enterprises designed to help these businesses generate more revenue while lowering their costs with communications technology that helps employees enhance their productivity while improving customer service.
Alcatel-Lucent’s Corporate Communications offer includes voice, data, unified communications and contact centre solutions whose enhancements enable large business customers to employ data virtualisation, increased scalability and strategic centralisation in the network to better address the challenges of globalisation.
With the help of Alcatel-Lucent and its business partner, Telephonie Centrale, the administration offices of Conseil Général du Morbihan, located in the Brittany region of France, have transformed their communications environment with this new offer.
"The new IP network has changed the way we do business. It gives our more than 2,300 employees unified communications tools that help them be more productive. It cuts our costs and provides flexibility through the new voice-over-wireless LAN capabilities. All remote city offices, public libraries and other facilities now have communication capabilities that previously were only available at the main administration building, further reducing our costs," said Richard Moro, director of information systems at Conseil Général du Morbihan. "In addition, we’ve deployed a contact centre that we are using now as a help desk for our employees and are considering to extended it to better serve our citizens in their relations with the administration."
"Alcatel-Lucent has added more than 5,000 new enterprise customers since the initial launch of the Corporate Communications Solutions offering nearly two years ago," said Tom Burns, head of Alcatel-Lucent enterprise activities. "The company continues to provide innovative, open standards solutions with SIP enhancements that help dynamic enterprises of all sizes save money as IP centralisation becomes a reality."
