RWS Group Reinforces Position in Patent Translations by Standardizing on SDL Technology
SDL, a provider of Global Information Management (GIM) solutions, announced today that RWS Holdings plc, a publicly traded Language Service Provider (LSP) and European provider of patent and technical translations, has selected SDL TRADOS Server technology solutions to boost the efficiency and value of its services.
RWS’s decision to invest in SDL MultiTerm(R) and SDL Trados Synergy™ in combination with plug-in API technology was driven by a desire to further increase the quality of client deliverables and improve lead times. With intellectual property translations historically being heavily paper-based, RWS found it was incurring high costs in maintaining OCR scanning systems and paper copies.
"We have selected SDL TRADOS Server solutions because we trust that this industry-leading, established technology will help us optimize the efficiency of some of our translation services," commented Roberto Aletto, IT Director at RWS. "SDL Technology will enable RWS to meet client expectations at a much higher speed and more cost-effectively. With SDL MultiTerm Server we will be able to provide enhanced terminology management as an integrated service offering to our clients, where quality and consistency are key. We expect these improvements to reinforce our position in the market. SDL TRADOS Technologies’ commitment to our collaboration additionally confirms their independence from the Translation Services arm of their business and we have accepted their categorical assurance of absolute confidentiality."
"We are excited to build such a strategic partnership with one of the industry’s largest Language Service Providers, providing mission-critical translation technology that will help RWS standardize on one technology platform to maximize internal efficiency," said Keith Laska, Vice President of SDL TRADOS Technologies. "At the same time, we are working closely with RWS to help build on its already deep knowledge of SDL TRADOS technology to maximize value for its rapidly growing customer base."
There is an increasingly strong demand from businesses worldwide to unify processes across the entire localization supply chain, by utilizing a common SDL Technology platform for localization to create significant efficiencies and faster time-to-market.
