Iontas reported today that a large U.S. Life Insurance company has purchased all three products in the Focus software suite: Process Focus, Activity Focus, and Event Focus. Recognized as a core technology for workforce optimization and process improvement in the Banking industry, Iontas’ Focus software suite is now used extensively in the Insurance industry to improve efficiency and quality.

The newest addition to the Focus suite, Process Focus, helped seal the deal. Process Focus monitors, recognizes, and tracks complete business processes, so companies can fully understand how users conduct their day-to-day business operations.

The Focus software suite will be used as part of a Six Sigma initiative to automatically catalog, discover, and improve current processes in the Insurance Company’s claims processing centers. According to industry analysts in the Six-Sigma space, “automatic process discovery” is one of the biggest challenges encountered in the Six Sigma approach to process optimization.

Focus’ metrics provide a foundation on which the company can define, measure, analyze, improve and control processes. With the detailed information provided by Focus, the Six Sigma team can pinpoint disparate and irregular processes followed by their workers and identify best practices to promote. The improvement initiative offers huge cost savings to the company, whose previous process metrics were based on inefficient speculation and hypothesizing.
