ColdSpark Launches SparkEngine Mail Transport Platform Series 5 for Enterprise Email Networks
ColdSpark™, provider of next-generation enterprise messaging infrastructure, has announced the launch of the 5 Series of the SparkEngine™ Mail Transport Platform, the first high-performance platform designed from the ground up to meet the comprehensive needs of today's global enterprises.
The SparkEngine platform replaces disparate legacy systems and point products in the network with a single, easy-to-manage software-based mail transport platform (MTP). It provides any enterprise mail networking system with inbound and outbound message delivery, internal message routing, policy-based processing, security, authentication, encryption, failure processing and traffic management.
The SparkEngine software platform replaces the poorly integrated, difficult-to-manage email infrastructure that has been patched together by many enterprises using decades-old open source Mail Transport Agent (MTA) applications (e.g. Sendmail and Postfix), fixed-bundle "dumb" appliances and point solutions for specific security and/or business requirements. The SparkEngine platform provides a scalable email infrastructure capable of efficiently processing the increasingly high volume of inbound and outbound email traffic global enterprises experience today. The SparkEngine supports email security, enforcement of corporate policies and regulatory compliance requirements and automated customer-focused email communications such as statements, publications and transactions.
"The enterprise email landscape has changed a great deal over the last two decades with the emergence of new security concerns and regulatory compliance standards," said Michael Osterman, Founder of Osterman Research. "The incorporation of software- and appliance-based point solutions to meet these new requirements has made the typical email infrastructure increasingly complex, costly and resource-intensive. SparkEngine replaces the collection of point solutions with a single, comprehensive framework capable of meeting a company's current and future email network needs."
The SparkEngine platform helps some of the world's largest and most complex organizations realize the full potential of a comprehensive email strategy while maximizing ROI on messaging operations. The SparkEngine platform provides a flexible messaging infrastructure to address security, compliance and customer care-based requirements, enabling companies to simplify, streamline and upgrade overtaxed email systems in a strategic way. The SparkEngine platform allows customers to:
- Intelligently process, route and deliver email rapidly, efficiently and successfully for any network function;
- Optimize compliance with industry regulations and corporate policies;
- Secure the email network perimeter, encrypt message traffic, improve trust for email correspondence and mitigate fraud ("phishing');
- Provide business units with state-of-the art automated email to customers;
- Increase flexibility by providing an extensible platform that integrates with enterprise business, operations and management applications;
- Improve manageability of the messaging infrastructure by consolidating mail traffic management and control, such as policy and compliance, into one system;
- Increase ROI by streamlining mail network operations, improving performance and future-proofing the enterprise email infrastructure against future threats and requirements.
"In the past five years, email has surpassed fax, postal mail and the phone to become the number one form of business communication. Yet, the backend infrastructure for email in the enterprise operates on legacy foundations and tends to be brittle, inflexible and costly to manage," said Kelly Wanser, ColdSpark CEO. "The SparkEngine platform represents an opportunity for companies to modernize email infrastructure to accommodate today's capacity, security, compliance and other challenges while serving as a flexible platform for deploying email strategically to meet business objectives and drive revenues. The adoption of the SparkEngine platform by top global businesses indicates the power of our platform approach to enterprise email infrastructure."
