Government Agencies Select Cistera Networks' IPT Enterprise Application Platform to Enhance Public Safety and Responsiveness
Cistera Networks, Inc., provider of advanced IP phone platforms and application engines in the Enterprise VoIP Telephony environment, announced that four more local and state government agencies have selected Cistera ConvergenceServers™ enabled with the company's Event Alerting and Notification, and Quality Assurance and Compliance Solution Sets. The new customers include the Florida Senate, Alabama Department of Public Health, San Mateo, CA Transit Authority and Wayne Township, IN Fire Department.
More government agencies are choosing Cistera's solutions because they solve real-world problems for public safety, transit authorities, legislatures and first responders. Cistera has installed solutions for 20 city, county and state government entities.
"As a result of recent emergencies, governments -- from the local level on up -- are looking for ways to better secure their residents and constituents through Homeland Security initiatives. They are being pressured to find ways to drastically increase the level of security and responsiveness, while reducing budgets and controlling costs. The only way to accomplish this is by leveraging next generation technology," said Derek Downs, Cistera's President. "We understand these challenges and have designed the Cistera platform to do just that -- create value for government organizations by delivering the broadest available range of advanced communications capabilities on a single platform."
"Cistera's solutions for government enhance communications and inter-agency collaboration, and improve responsiveness in day-to-day operations as well as in emergency situations," commented Greg Royal, Chief Technology Officer for the company. "We are the only company that delivers the capability to link two-way radios to an IP Telephony environment to enable communication across multiple frequencies; while also supporting recording for malicious calls and emergency calls; broadcasting of emergency alerts as well as full conferencing capabilities. We invest very heavily in R&D to provide our customers advanced communications capabilities that go beyond traditional point solutions and legacy CTI applications."
The Cistera ConvergenceServer delivers the industry's most powerful and scalable suite of application engines on a single, secure, and reliable platform that integrates seamlessly with a Cisco IP PBX Platform. Cistera's solution-set enhances collaboration, productivity and public safety by delivering cost-effective tools that extend the capabilities of an IP Telephony deployment by adding critical competency and features such as text and audio broadcasting, messaging, recording, content streaming and two-way radio integration. Cistera's application engines fall into four main Solution Sets: Event Alerting and Notification, Quality Assurance and Compliance, Presence Management, and Productivity and Collaboration.
