Vecta Introduces Sales Intelligence Software as a Service

Vecta, provider of sales intelligence solutions has announced the launch of ‘Vecta OnDemand’, an industry-first solution that promises to put ‘operational’ business intelligence at the fingertips of the sales force without the need for additional IT infrastructure or resources.

To date, the ‘on demand’ model has largely been associated with CRM, but Vecta OnDemand is breaking new ground by introducing truly operational BI Software as a Service (SaaS). In practice this means that key information based on customer buying patterns, for example new sales opportunities or warnings of decreased spend, can now be delivered to the sales and marketing teams via timely alerts using a hosted web-based application.

There are three components to the new service; subscription licensing, hosted delivery and managed services, all of which allow customers to focus on the benefits of the software, not on managing it. Vecta OnDemand delivers true SaaS by incorporating managed services that ensure raw data is translated into timely and relevant sales information that directs salespeople to the most profitable sales opportunities.

In addition, the service is delivered via a highly responsive and usable smart client that installs, upgrades and accesses services over the internet in a similar way to iTunes and Skype. This provides the benefits of a conventional browser-based application without the drawbacks, namely that information collected online is also available offline making it a far more attractive prospect for a busy salesperson on the road.

“The global business intelligence market will generate $2.5 billion in 2006, according to Gartner, and Vecta’s Sales Intelligence solutions are at the forefront of the shift in this software market to SaaS.” Explains Martin Mackay, CEO of Vecta. “SaaS is capturing the business world’s imagination due to the obvious benefits such as faster, easier deployment and lower implementation, maintenance and support costs, which in turn mean lower total cost and quicker ROI for customers. At Vecta we already deliver outstanding ROI to our customers, and with the new Vecta OnDemand solution it is now even easier for them to experience the benefits and value of sales intelligence ”

Leading paper distributor Antalis is one of Vecta’s customers who has been trialling the new service and IT director Farid Motamed has been impressed; “Over the last three years we’ve rolled-out Vecta Sales Intelligence to more than 200 office and field-based salespeople. This mix of users is common across Vecta’s customer base, so it’s critical that although Vecta OnDemand includes a hosting service, it continues to support online and offline usage. As a beta customer, we were keen to evaluate the new web-based Vecta ‘smart client’ and we’ve been very satisfied with the performance, responsiveness and usability of the application, it provides many advantages over traditional client-server and browser-based applications. Vecta OnDemand improves the availability and accessibility of the solution by providing sales people with access to the latest customer and sales history over the web.”

Another long-standing customer involved in evaluating the service was stationary supplier, Stat Plus. "Stat Plus has been a Vecta customer for many years and we've derived great value from their Sales Intelligence solutions over that time.” Explains Denes Nemestothy, IT director at Stat Plus. “Vecta OnDemand provides us with an alternative deployment option that will minimise the IT infrastructure and resources needed to deliver sales intelligence to the business. Because of these benefits we were keen to participate in the beta programme and we've been particularly impressed with the managed services that support all aspects of running the software, from application administration and periodic upgrades to data management processes."

Vecta OnDemand is offered at a single integrated price covering software, support and maintenance, with hosted managed services that deliver real time sales intelligence to sales teams on-line and on the road.
