Lloydmedia Purchases Contact Management Magazine
Canada's publication for the call centre industry, Contact Management, has moved to Lloydmedia Inc, based in Markham, ON, Canada, publisher of Direct Marketing News and several directories. Contact Management will keep publishing under the same name with the same circulation.
Lloydmedia reached an agreement in principle with Contact Management owner PW Group to acquire the magazine effective September 1, 2005. Details of the acquisition were not disclosed. Contact Management had stopped publishing following the closing of its publishing company, August Communications, Winnipeg, after parent PW Group filed for bankruptcy protection earlier this year.
Contact Management is mailed to more than 5,000 contact centre managers, executives and suppliers across Canada. The magazine has long been seen as the most authoritative in the market, an invaluable source of information for and about the Canadian contact centre industry.
As the only Canadian-published magazine of its kind, Contact Management also offers advertisers unparalleled targeting and frequency to present their products and services. For an industry that is constantly changing, the magazine’s in-depth features explore emerging trends and detail practices to ensure contact centres stay ahead of the curve. It runs regular forums covering topics such as technology, management, profiles, association news and human resources, helping readers stay up-to-date on industry movements and developments.
Articles appearing in Contact Management magazine stem from those within the industry and the experts who work to advance the industry. They are written from a unique Canadian perspective by industry leaders and experienced writers, providing readers with ideas they can easily incorporate into their operations.
"This is an excellent publication in a market that needs to be kept informed and up-to-date," says Steve Lloyd, president of Lloydmedia, Inc, speaking about the acquisition. "What's more, it's a natural fit with our existing publications and directories, making this an easy decision. We can now deliver the total contact and call centre marketplace through both Contact Management and DirectMarketing News and our Call Centre News supplement. I think it's important to keep the two publications separate and distinct, with the circulation for Contact Management remaining unchanged, with perhaps some small refinements and updates."
Contact Management will be published bi-monthly in 2006, starting in January. A re-launch issue is also tentatively scheduled to be published in October.
"Beyond its role in marketing, the contact centre is a dynamic and vital component in many corporations today, which Contact Management will continue to recognize and write about," says Lloyd. "Advertisers will find their market intact, while this move will also open doors for them to reach the unique readers of DMN as well."
The annual Call Centre Industry Directory will be expanded and enhanced, and will become a supplement to both DMN and Contact Management. It will be published in April 2006.
DMN is also the official media partner for the ICCM Exhibition in Las Vegas in September, and will be a major partner with ICCM in Canada over 2006, providing key delivery channels for both Contact Management and Direct Marketing News.
