Business Objects Broadens Participation in IBM'S ISV Advantage Initiative
Business Objects has expanded its participation in IBM's ISV Advantage Initiative, a program designed to provide independent software vendors (ISVs) with technical and marketing support to help meet the specific information technology needs of small and medium business (SMB) companies.
Business Objects, which joined the ISV Advantage Initiative in 2003 to focus on the industrial vertical in North America, has agreed with IBM to extend the collaboration to several sectors in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, as well as the retail sector in North America.
BusinessObjects™ XI, the industry most advanced and complete business intelligence platform, includes everything companies need to track, understand, and manage their enterprise performance -- including data integration, reporting, query and analysis, and performance management solutions. With BusinessObjects XI, small and medium companies can gain extreme insight into their business to optimize performance and improve decision making.
Small and medium businesses can utilize Business Objects solutions to access information on-demand to improve enterprise performance. The combination of BusinessObjects XI with IBM DB2® Universal Database on Linux and WebSphere® Application Server provides customers in the SMB market with solutions that offer fast time to value. As part of the program, Business Objects will work closely with IBM to expand its visibility in the targeted vertical industries through a variety of co-marketing and sales activities.
"Small and medium sized companies have made it clear they want to benefit from the powerful insight provided by business intelligence," said Jon Dorrington, vice president of alliances at Business Objects. "By expanding our collaboration with IBM, we increase our ability to reach these companies with solutions that meet their business and budget needs. Business Objects BI solutions are robust, reliable, and easy to deploy. Using BusinessObjects XI, SMB organizations around the world can enjoy the rapid return on investment that comes from using BI to optimize performance."
"Business Objects and IBM have delivered powerful integrated solutions to meet the business intelligence needs of enterprise customers," said Lesley Norris, Director of ISV & Developer Relations, IBM Europe, Middle East & Africa. "Together, we are making it easier for more small and medium businesses to rapidly obtain the benefits that come from business intelligence solutions."
The IBM WebSphere and DB2 family includes products that are designed and priced specifically for small and medium businesses. They are easy to install and manage, scalable to grow with a business, rich in functionality, and based on open standards to allow integration with existing software and hardware platforms.
